Are you in a Sexless Marriage? The truth behind Why So Many Women Prefer No Sex

Image
Here’s the secret to avoid a sexless marriage and, in fact, have your sex life get better as you get older. Guys, I have bad news for you. You know the joke “If you want to have sex, don’t get married!”? Well, it’s largely true. It gets worse. According to an analysis of U.S. Census data, 36% of women living with a same-sex romantic partner in their 40s had been married to a man at some point, and it goes as high as 75% for women in their 60’s. My take? As women age their needs for  intimacy shift  so dramatically that some actually switch teams just to find it. Now for the good news. You and your partner don’t have to suffer this fate of being stuck in a sexless marriage. In fact, it is possible to have your intimate life get even better as you grow older together! This post shows you how. Sexless Marriage: The Age-Old Dilemma “ To be honest, I can take or leave sex, and mostly I’d rather leave it, ” Lee Woodruff, CBS News Correspondent, admitted in an artic...

Extended Orgasms Are Magic & You Can Experience One

Image
I want to invite you to try this ancient, unique and powerful self-pleasure practice Very recently, I had the privilege of interviewing Steve Bodansky, author of “Extended Massive Orgasm”, on my radio show. His book outlines the practice of  Deliberate Orgasm . And I love, love, love the practice of Deliberate Orgasm! This technique is useful for keeping my sexual pleasure reserves “full” so I blended the Deliberate Orgasm technique with my own 7 years of Tibetan Tantra.  The result is a sweet, simple Tantric masturbation practice I call “Orgasmic Awareness”. A Better Orgasm In 3 Simple Steps Set some private time aside to fully immerse yourself in this exercise. The whole practice takes about 20-25 minutes so  I encourage you to set your timer. I chose 20-25 minutes because, as an Ishaya Monk, we were instructed that it takes  20 minutes of meditation  for the brain to receive the full benefits. It can also take...

Dear Woman’s Breasts…

Image
I apologize on behalf of every man who has treated you as less than the jewel that you really are. For the man shackled by his own internal battles, defeated by his self-knowing impotence, and for every grown toddler stuck in his driven purely by his territorial tendencies. I apologise on behalf of every woman who has believed you are the reason of this distortion; for loathing you, for alienating herself from you, for numbing herself from her pleasurable dimensions by mistaking abuse-avoidance with self-avoidance, for belittling your substantial multi-dimensionality, and for every woman that has desensitize herself to the pleasure of your existence. I apologize on behalf of every woman who has treated you as any less than the very reflection of her Goddess-self. I apologize for hiding you behind my clothes. For caging you in an  armored bra , shielding you from the truth of mankind (with its uncontrollable cravings and impulses) and for favoring the feigned safety ...

The 11 Most Perfect Yoga Bodies in the World

Image
“You are imperfect; permanently and inevitably flawed. And you are beautiful.” Amy Bloom Yoga is an incredibly powerful practice helping us to embrace, heal and empower our bodies. And the more we love our bodies, the more we are able to love ourselves and others. Many though feel a lack of love towards their bodies. I felt this lack of love too, but over the years I’ve realized that the only place I have to live in is my body. It is my temple. When we don’t love and fully accept ourselves as we are, we cannot love or accept others. I’ve put together the following images to remind myself and others of how perfectly imperfect we are; how our curves and edges, our scars and scratches make us uniquely beautiful. It is up to us to embrace this uniqueness, to love ourselves and feel gratitude for all we are. Let these following pictures inspire love; for yourself and others. You are perfect! #1 Be yourself, there is no one better #2 You are entirely up t...

The Psychological Reason You Get Defensive (Hint: It's Not A Character Flaw)

Image
Recently, I met with a couple for whom even the simplest request from one partner—for example, "Would you be sure to park your car under the oak tree?"—was interpreted as an insult or attack by Sam, the other partner. "Don’t you think I would have thought of that on my own?" he would say. With some digging into their personal histories, I discovered that Sam's father had always corrected his kids by telling them they were worthless; as a result, Sam became  "allergic" to any request or statement that could be interpreted as suggesting any kind of inadequacy on his part . This caused him to develop a defensive response, which, while effective in rebuffing a real attack, only serves to close down communication and invite passive-aggression in an otherwise healthy relationship. If you know (or are in a relationship with) a defensive person, it can be extremely frustrating. You know you aren't doing anything wrong, and yet you can't commu...

This Single Dad's Adoption Story Makes Us Cry Every Time

Image
Here at mbg, we believe you’re the expert on your own wellness journey, and becoming a parent is no different. Yet from the moment of conception, or often even before, mothers and fathers are told what to do. Our  Parenting Paths  week celebrates a handful of parents who’ve listened to their intuition and gone their own way. One family  traveled the world  while raising their daughters; this single mom takes a  spiritual approach  to parenting; and more.  You may remember Hill Harper as a keynote speaker at mbg's annual wellness summit, revitalize—this year, he opened with  a beautiful monologue  about the importance of coming together as a community, finding your holy key, and closed onstage in gratitude with his adopted son, Pierce. There was not a single dry eye in the room! You may also know Harper from television. He's an actor by trade and has been on CSI New York, The Good Doctor,  and  Homeland , to name a few. Or pe...
